(Versão resumida do CV em português) Nuno Ferreira Neves is Professor at the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisboa. Currently, he is Head of the Department. He leads the Navigators´s research group and he is on the coordination board of the LASIGE research unit. His main research interests are in dependability and security aspects of distributed systems and networks. He investigates models, protocols and architectures that are suitable for applications with strong resilience requirements, namely applications that need to remain operational despite accidental faults or malicious attacks. The kind of environments that are being contemplated include critical cyber-physical systems, cloud access and systems, programmable networks, mobile computing with small hand-held devices, and scalable web applications. Currently, he is involved in projects SEAL and uPVN. The first addresses the discovery and removal of vulnerabilities in healthcare applications, while the second focuses in developing solutions that enable the creation of virtual networks by exploring programmable switches. He also coordinates the local team in a cooperation project in secure smart grids with Brazilian colleagues. In the past years, he has contributed to several other security & dependability-related projects at European level, such as SUPERCLOUD, SEGRID, MASSIF, BiobankClouds, TCLOUDS, SecFuNet, CRUTIAL, MAFTIA, and RESIST, and nationally, SITAN, DIVERSE, RITAS, AJECT and COPE. He is Chair of IEEE Computer Society Technical Committee on Dependable Computing and Fault Tolerance (TCFT) (2021-2023). He is on the editorial board of the International Journal of Critical Computer-Based Systems. He is chair of the steering committee of the IEEE/IFIP International Conference on Dependable Systems and Networks. His work has been recognized in several occasions, for example with the IBM Scientific Prize, the Test-of-Time Award award at IEEE DSN/FTCS, and the Best student paper at Middleware. He has more than 140 publications in book chapters, journals and conferences, and has served on the program committee of more than 100 conferences and workshops.
