This game is played on a 8x8 square board with the following setup:

 

SOLDIER - Moves and captures by sliding orthogonally and diagonally thru any number of empty cells until it meets another piece (i.e., like the chess Queen). KING - Moves and captures to an (orthogonal or diagonal) adjacent cell (i.e., like the chess King). GOAL - A player wins when it captures the opponent's King. If there is no capture for 10 turns, the game is a draw.

 

An example This position is a win for Black (the basic chess endgame) if he manages to capture the King in 10 moves.
