GRENSHOLM

Copyright (c) 2004 Markus Salo

This game is played on a 6x4 square board with the following setup:

TURN - At each turn, each player moves a friendly stone.
Stones move and capture like chess horses, only in forward directions.
When a stone reaches the player's last row, it is promoted.
Promoted stones move and capture like chess horses, only in backward directions.
GOAL - A player wins if he moves a promoted stone back to his first row.

Some capture examples

Black stone at c2 is already moving home. White must promote his stone at b4 to c6 in order to stop c2.

Then Black moves b6-c4 with a reply c3-d5! (capturing d2:c4 is a bad move, Black can reply d6:c4), c4:d2, d5-b6 (a sacrifice to promote another stone), d2:b1, b6-d5, c2-a1, d6:a5 and White wins the race.

There is a ZRF to play Grensholm with Zillions.
