KINGS OF BABYLON

Copyright (c) 2002 Markus Salo

This game (which the author says is a variant of Latrunculi and Hnefatafl) is played on a 9x9 square board with the following setup:

SOLDIER - Move any number or empty cells in one orthogonal direction (like chess Rooks). They can jump the central black cell while moving.
Soldiers are captured by surrounding them from two opposite sides.
KINGS - Move like soldiers.
Kings are captured by surrounding them from all four sides, or three if the King is on the edge of the board.
The black cells can only be entered by the King and they can be used to capture opponent pieces like in Tafl.
GOAL -The player who moves his King to one of the opposite corners, wins.

An example

Red moves his soldier at g2 to cell [1] trapping the opponent King. The Green King is obliged to move out the a column, and so, Green move his King to i4 winning on the next move.

There is a ZRF to play Kings of Babylon with Zillions.
