[2020 Oct 08] Participated in a panel on automated web accessibility evaluation (in dutch), part of the Dutch Accessibility Week organized by the Accessibility Foundation.

[2020 Oct 06] The new acessibilidade.gov website was launched. It includes the new AccessMonitor accessibility evaluation platform powered by our own accessibility checking engine, Qualweb.

[2020 Aug 31] Our paper on using different modalities to control Smart TVs is already online.

About me

I am an assistant professor at the Department of Informatics, Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon and a researcher at LaSIGE as member of the HCIM group.

My main area of research is Human-Computer Interaction with a strong emphasis on Accessibility. My work in this area for more than 10 years, has focused on finding ways to ease the access to interactive systems for populations with special needs, permanent or temporary. My approach to this challenging problem has evolved to believing that each user is unique, which led me to focus on two complementary solutions: adaptation and multimodality.
